![]() We generally like bold, spicy/spiced food though so might be an us problem The picture/name always sounded so good, but we were always disappointed with the final result. The only seasoning was "yellow curry paste" - no paprika, cumin, cinnamon, cayenne, chili powder, anything! And no bread to dip! Other recipes were similarly "meh" and just generally lacking flavor. One of the worst offenders was this Chickpea and Curry "Shakshuka". The freezer pack stuff can go down the drainīland, uninspired food. Generally, the meals were lower-calorie, if that's something you care about The freezer pack stuff can't go down the drain? ![]() More of the meals are higher-calorie (600-900) Recipe cards are extraordinarily easy to follow - big pictures, big font, not too many sub-parts Portion size is great, at first I doubted it would be enough but was always full after every meal (just showing that I was eating too much before!) I wouldn't pay more for this obviously but since HF and BA are price comparable. The little package of ingredients is not necessary but appreciated I just pull out the bag, versus digging through my fridge for the BA ingredients. I really love how it has you use one ingredient multiple ways (for example, sauteeing the white part of scallions, and using the green part for garnish)Įxcellent variety, both for veggie and non-veggie meals, the recipes are things I would never think to cook myself but now will re-buy the ingredients ![]() Excellent use of spices, sauces, different flavors, etc. The food is just damn tasty, I don't think we had a single meal we didn't love. Overall, after doing four weeks of each, we're switching permanently to HF and canceling BA entirely. We get the veggie meals (not vegetarian just trying to eat less meat for the environment) unless one of the meat meals looks way way better. My partner and I tried mealkits for the first time starting this January.
